چکیده

Wheat stem rust, caused by Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici ( Pgt ), has re-emerged as one of the major concerns for global wheat production since evolution Ug99 and other virulent pathotypes from East Africa, Europe, Central Asia, regions. Host resistance is most effective, economic, eco-friendly approach managing rust. Understanding virulence nature, genetic diversity, origin, distribution, evolutionary pattern over time space a prerequisite effectively newly emerging isolates through host resistance. In present study, we monitored occurrence rust in India neighboring countries 2016 to 2022, collected 620 single-pustule six states Nepal, analyzed them on Indian differentials, determined their phenotypes molecular genotypes. The type did not occur India. Pathotypes 11 40A were predominant during these years. Virulence phenotyping identified 14 pathotypes, which genotyped using 37 spp.-specific polymorphic microsatellites, followed additional phylogenetic analyses DARwin. These three groups, demonstrating fewer lineages, clonality, long-distance migration Fourteen 40 recently released varieties exhibited complete all 23 at seedling stage. Twelve Sr genes postulated 39 based response pathotypes. values slow rusting parameters i.e. coefficient infection, area under disease progress curve, infection rates, assessed adult plant stage five geographically different locations two crop seasons, indicated behavior several varieties. Six Sr2 , Sr57 Sr58 Sr24 Sr31 Sr38 ) 24 markers closely linked genes. findings will guide future breeding programs toward more effective management

Genetic Mapping of Stem Rust Resistance to Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici Race TRTTF in the Canadian Wheat Cultivar Harvest.

Stem rust, caused by Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici, is a destructive disease of wheat that can be controlled by deploying effective stem rust resistance (Sr) genes. Highly virulent races of P. graminis f. sp. tritici in Africa have been detected and characterized. These include race TRTTF and the Ug99 group of races such as TTKSK. Several Canadian and U.S. spring wheat cultivars, including t...

Markers Linked to Wheat Stem Rust Resistance Gene Sr11 Effective to Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici Race TKTTF.

Wheat stem rust, caused by Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici, can cause severe yield losses on susceptible wheat varieties and cultivars. Although stem rust can be controlled by the use of genetic resistance, population dynamics of P. graminis f. sp. tritici can frequently lead to defeat of wheat stem rust resistance genes. P. graminis f. sp. tritici race TKTTF caused a severe epidemic in Ethiop...

Changing the Game: Using Integrative Genomics to Probe Virulence Mechanisms of the Stem Rust Pathogen Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici

The recent resurgence of wheat stem rust caused by new virulent races of Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici (Pgt) poses a threat to food security. These concerns have catalyzed an extensive global effort toward controlling this disease. Substantial research and breeding programs target the identification and introduction of new stem rust resistance (Sr) genes in cultivars for genetic protection a...

genetics of pathogenicity of wheat stem rust pathogen (puccinia graminis f.sp. tritici) and reaction of wheat genotypes to the disease

pathogenicity of wheat stem rust was investigated during two cropping seasons of the years 2010 and 2011. towards this end, 47 isogenic lines of wheat stem rust along with 43 cultivars/lines of the crop were tested in field conditions (natural infection) and also in the greenhouse conditions. the results showed, similarity of pathogenicity for plants carring gene/s sr7b, sr8a, sr8b, sr9b, sr9d,...
